Sourdough Big Mac Sliders

A Familiar Flavor, Baked at Home
Sourdough Big Mac sliders are the kind of food that instantly makes a table feel full and inviting. They are familiar, comforting, and built for sharing, with all the flavors people love layered into soft sourdough rolls. This recipe takes the idea of a classic drive-thru favorite and turns it into something meant for slow dinners, game days, and gatherings where everyone reaches for seconds.
Using sourdough brioche rolls brings a subtle depth that balances the rich beef, creamy sauce, and crisp toppings. The result is indulgent without being overwhelming and nostalgic without feeling gimmicky.
What Sourdough Brings to a Classic Slider
Sourdough rolls give these sliders structure and flavor without stealing the spotlight. Their slight tang cuts through the richness of the beef and sauce, while the soft crumb keeps everything cohesive. Whether you bake your own rolls or use a good store-bought option, sourdough adds a homemade quality that makes the sliders feel more intentional.
This is also a great way to build a meal around sourdough baking without committing to a long or complicated process. The rolls do the heavy lifting, letting the rest of the recipe stay simple.
Built for Sharing, Not Fussing
These sliders are designed for feeding people. They bake together in one pan, hold their shape, and are easy to serve without extra assembly at the table. That makes them ideal for casual hosting, family dinners, or nights when you want something fun but still grounded in comfort food.
Because everything is layered and baked as a whole, the flavors settle together rather than feeling stacked. Each slider tastes cohesive from the first bite to the last.

Where These Sliders Fit Best
Sourdough Big Mac sliders are best made when you want food that invites people to linger. They work well for game days, casual get-togethers, or cozy nights when dinner doubles as comfort. Served warm, they disappear quickly and tend to become a request rather than a one-off meal.
The Sauce That Makes It Feel Iconic
The signature sauce is where this recipe really shines. It brings sweetness, acidity, and warmth that pull the beef, cheese, and pickles into balance. Spread throughout the sliders rather than piled in one spot, it keeps every bite flavorful without feeling heavy.
This is the element that turns simple ingredients into something craveable and familiar, while still feeling homemade.
Comfort Food With a Homemade Feel
This recipe leans into familiarity while still offering something a little more thoughtful. Sourdough Big Mac sliders are comforting, approachable, and easy to love, the kind of dish that feels just as right on a busy weeknight as it does at a full table.

Sourdough Big Mac Sliders
Ingredients
Sourdough Rolls
- 12 Sourdough Brioche Rolls (I use this dough recipe, dividing into 12 even rolls after bulk fermentation instead of a loaf shape. Alternatively, you can easily use store-bought buns!)
Meat Filling
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1/2 Onion (diced)
- Salt to Taste
Sauce
- 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup Ketchup
- 1/4 cup Mustard
- 3 tbsp Pickle Juice
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Salt
Toppings
- 8 Slices of American Cheese
- 1/2 Head of Iceberg Lettuce (chopped)
- Pickles
- 3 tbsp Melted Butter
- Sesame Seeds
Instructions
- Prepare your sauce by mixing all of the sauce ingredients together in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Dice your onion. Add the ground beef and onion into a hot pan over medium heat. Season to taste with salt, and allow the meat to fully brown, roughly 6-8 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Cut your rolls in half. Set the top half of the rolls aside to use later. Spread half of the Big Mac sauce on the bottom half of the buns. Top with the browned meat, then place one pickle on each roll. Top with the american cheese. Bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- After removing the sliders from the oven, spread the remaining sauce on the top half of the rolls. Add the shredded iceberg lettuce on top of the melted cheese and place the top half of the buns on the sliders. Brush with melted butter and sesame seeds.
- Bake for an additional 5 minutes. Serve warm!
